Empresa Casal upgrades its fleet with 17 new IVECO BUS vehicles for the Seville metropolitan area

In Spain, Empresa Casal renews its trust in IVECO BUS with the acquisition of 17 new vehicles — CROSSWAY Hybrid and URBANWAY CNG — dedicated to the Seville metropolitan area. This delivery is part of a long-standing partnership built on operational reliability and a shared commitment to sustainable and high-performance public mobility.

Casal once again places its trust in IVECO BUS with the acquisition of 17 new vehicles for the Seville metropolitan area. The delivery includes CROSSWAY Hybrid models for intercity services and URBANWAY buses powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) for urban routes, further consolidating a long-standing collaboration built on a core principle: operational reliability.

This new investment pursues a dual objective: improving passenger service quality and contributing to the decarbonisation of public transport in the Seville metropolitan area. With the integration of these new vehicles, Casal adopts low-emission, efficient and cost-effective technological solutions, without compromising on fleet reliability and availability.

The CROSSWAY Hybrid models combine an optimised internal combustion engine with an electric system that recovers braking energy, reducing fuel consumption and emissions, particularly under variable operating conditions. Meanwhile, the URBANWAY CNG buses offer a proven and mature solution for urban environments, significantly reducing pollutant emissions and noise levels during operation – key assets in high-density areas such as the Seville metropolitan region.

Beyond technology, Casal has selected vehicles recognised for their reliability and in-service performance, ensuring high availability, optimised maintenance and controlled operating costs – critical factors for a public transport operator.

This decision reflects the well-established partnership with IVECO BUS, built on a close working relationship, specialised technical support and ongoing assistance, all of which are essential for the progressive renewal of the fleet.

Giorgio ZINO, Head of IVECO BUS Commercial Operations in Europe, stated: “Casal’s renewed confidence confirms that reliability is not merely a commitment; it is proven every day in real-world operations. Our vehicles are designed to ensure availability, energy efficiency and long-term durability. This delivery demonstrates our ability to offer multi-energy solutions tailored to each application, fully aligned with the operational constraints of metropolitan public transport.”

Through this delivery, Casal and IVECO BUS reaffirm their shared commitment to sustainable mobility that combines performance and reliability, contributing to the modernisation of public transport and to improved air quality in the Seville region.
