Vénissieux, 17 July 2025
Following the success of previous contracts in 2023, which involved frame agreements for a total of 22 DAILY minibuses and 42 CROSSWAY Low Entry Hybrid vehicles, OTW (Transport Operator of Wallonia) renews its partnership with IVECO BUS for the supply of 127 CROSSWAY Low Entry buses.
Operating under the TEC (Transport en Commun) brand, the new vehicles will be deployed in the Liège and Namur regions, with deliveries scheduled in two phases: the first batch of 83 units starting in the first quarter of 2026, followed by a second batch of 44 units beginning in the first quarter of 2027.
“These buses will operate on suburban routes, where passengers spend more time onboard. Therefore, features that enhance passenger comfort—such as thermal comfort, low noise levels, a high number of seats, attractive aesthetics, and ease of use for all customers—are particularly important. Safety, ergonomics, and comfort for drivers and technicians are of utmost importance. Last but not least, energy efficiency was a key factor in this decision,” explained Christophe MARTIN, OTW’s rolling stock manager.
"We are pleased with this new collaboration with OTW and would like to thank them for their trust in our models. These CROSSWAY Low Entry vehicles, which will soon join OTW's fleet, perfectly address the current challenges of passenger mobility, offering a safe and comfortable travel experience," said Giorgio ZINO, IVECO BUS Head of Bus Commercial Operations in Europe.
The CROSSWAY Low Entry buses, measuring 12 meters in length, can accommodate up to 99 passengers, including 37 seated, in addition to the driver. Designed for passenger and driver comfort, they will be equipped with air conditioning, high-comfort seats with integrated USB ports, information screens, luggage racks, and a driver’s cockpit that combines ergonomic design and safety.
Their low floor between the front and middle doors, combined with an external sliding "tram" type door, facilitates access for all passengers, meeting the needs of urban and suburban journeys.
Equipped with the Cursor 9 engine, compatible with HVO, delivering 360 hp, and coupled with a Voith gearbox, the CROSSWAY Low Entry vehicles deliver optimal performance.
