IVECO BUS officially delivered the first 20 CROSSWAY LE 12m vehicles to deu.mobil GmbH, a regional mobility operator based in Landsberg am Lech (Bavaria). These vehicles are intended for the rail replacement service (SEV) of DB InfraGO and are part of a total order of 45 CROSSWAY units within a broader project of 159 units. Their commissioning is scheduled for February 2026 on several lines in southern Germany, in accordance with the contract awarded to deu.mobil GmbH.
The ceremony was held at the Ulm IVECO Experience Center, where the CROSSWAY LE’s performance was showcased on a new test track featuring a 42° banked curve. The demonstration highlighted the vehicle’s reliability and roadholding even under demanding conditions.
CROSSWAY LE: Safety, performance, and comfort for SEV operations
The 45 CROSSWAY Low Entry 12m vehicles ordered by deu.mobil GmbH come in two versions: 17 standard models and 28 equipped with a WC unit. All feature the “traffic purple” livery and comply with the latest GSR safety standards, in line with the customer’s requirements.
They are equipped with the IVECO Cursor 9 engine (265 kW/360 hp, 1,650 Nm), a Voith NXT 867.8 7-speed automatic gearbox with integrated retarder, ESF system, cruise control, heated windscreen, electric floor heating, and a driver’s refrigerator. Safety is further enhanced by a pedestrian warning gong, an intelligent passenger counting system, and video surveillance. For passenger comfort, each vehicle provides 39 reinforced seats with seat belts, dedicated wheelchair space, USB ports at every row, free Wi-Fi, powerful air conditioning, and passenger information via external displays and a dual 18.5" TFT screen.
Giorgio ZINO, Head of IVECO BUS Commercial Operations in Europe, said: “We thank deu.mobil for their trust in IVECO BUS. With CROSSWAY Low Entry, we provide a reliable and high-performance solution designed for the comfort of both staff and passengers, fully aligned with SEV service requirements.”
