Successful deal for IVECO BUS in Brazil with 41 chassis for Viação Minas Gerais

Designed and manufactured in IVECO's plant in Sete Lagoas (MG), the IVECO BUS 170S28 chassis has been conquering more space in the large cities of Brazil and other Latin American countries, as a solution for passenger transport. In another successful operation to increase its participation in the segment, the manufacturer has just had a batch of 41 units sold and will complete the fleet of Viação Minas Gerais (VMG), a company based in Contagem, in the metropolitan area of Belo Horizonte, in the state of Minas Gerais.

The 12.8-meter-long vehicles, bodied on the 170S28 chassis by COMIL company, will be part of the fleet from Minas Gerais, which is the largest fleet owner of IVECO BUS in Latin America, with more than 100 units of the model and ten units of the DAILY Minibus 45-170. With 40 years of tradition in passenger transport, VMG has its own fleet, maintenance and electrical workshops, 24-hour service and specialized consulting for each client. VMG provides transportation for the manufacturer’s employees from the capital city of Minas Gerais to Sete Lagoas and within the municipality. They will operate as a shuttle, transporting employees home-plant, especially for IVECO Group.

Last month, VMG was one of the companies honoured in the first edition of the Iveco Group Suppliers of The Year - an Iveco Group award that highlighted suppliers from Brazil and Argentina for excellence and good performance in solutions, products and services. VMG was the winner in the category Purchasing of Indirect Materials - Services.

The 170S28 chassis is part of the IVECO BUS offer, which recently presented its new Euro VI line on the occasion of LAT. BUS 2022, the largest urban mobility event in Latin America, During the fair, that took place in Sao Paolo from 9 to 11 August, IVECO BUS exhibited the new versions of the DAILY Minibus 45-160 and 50-180, chassis 10-190 and 17-280, chassis 17- 210 G powered by CNG, the full electric E-WAY city bus, as well as the NEXPRO Connect fleet management platform.
