A NEW RECORD FOR FPT INDUSTRIAL: THE MILESTONE OF 150,000 ENGINES MANUFACTURED IN CÓRDOBA
FPT Industrial has achieved a new milestone with 150,000 engines produced at its Córdoba plant, in Argentina. The plant’s production lines produce engines from the series 9, 10, 13 and NEF range for transport and agriculture, both for the domestic market and for export to countries throughout South America.
Since it was opened in 2012, the factory has stood out for the level of training and commitment of its team. The human factor, alongside the machining centers and the experience of its suppliers, position FPT Industrial as one of the benchmarks for Latin American industry.
In 2018, the brand manufactured 17,000 engines and was able to perfect areas such as autonomous maintenance, work organization and production processes. In the same year, the plant achieved Bronze level in the World Class Manufacturing, which integrates the management of manufacturing processes. Now the Argentinian plant is the reference point of Iveco Group for DOT (Driving Operations Together), the new re-sults-oriented programme that will optimise the company’s operations worldwide and drive process sustainability. Excluseive to Iveco Group, DOT is designed upon the strenght and success of the previous manufacturing continuous improvement programme (adopted in 2008), extending its field of application to all Operations, and enriching the ecosystem with a new managerial focus to encourage a more proactive mindset and accountability across the company.
2019 the cumulative figure of 100,000 engines produced in the country was reached, and in 2021 that figure was exceeded in exported engines, with two product families: the NEF and Cursor, both available in different versions.
Now, the company and its employees are celebrating the milestone of 150,000 engines manufactured to date in the plant. They are used on IVECO trucks, leader in the Argentine market, as well as New Holland Agriculture, New Holland Construction, Case IH and CASE Construction Equipment machinery, in addition to applications in other segments such as the power generation sector and the marine market in Latin America.
“We are very proud of this great achievement for our plant, which is testament to the excellence and quality of the engines, but also the teamwork and the skills of our employees, who strive daily to meet and exceed our customers expectations. Without the joint work of all the parts that make up FPT Industrial, this would not be possible,” commented Sylvain Blaise, President Powertrain.
“The Argentine market is key for the brand, and the proof of this is not only in the investments made, but also in our constant research and development to ensure the highest quality production processes. Achieving the milestone of 150,000 engines manufactured in Argentina is a success for all of us,” said Marco Rangel, Vice President of FPT Industrial for Latin America.
In Argentina, the brand has a dealer network made up of Eurotorque and Propeller in the province of Buenos Aires; Grumaq in Córdoba, and Mayssa in Salta, groups that sell FPT Industrial products for on-road, off-road, marine and power generation applications, also providing after-sales services for the entire country.
